At the end of February, Sean Clancy - our latest addition to the DART-nuun squad - and Tessa Roorda - our Brazilian superstar visiting dignitary, tested their early season fitness by competing in the 8 hour Desert Rage Temecula race at Vail Lake. Their fitness looked just fine as they took the overall win while Cyril joined team Feed the Machine (another nuun sponsored team) and helped them navigate to a 1st place in the premier 4 person co-ed division, a mere minute behind Sean and Tessa.

The race was in a superb location with tons of single track and tricky navigation. It also had a unique format in that each section (mountain biking, trail running, and kayakying) had to be done within a specific time period. The challenge was to get as many checkpoints as possible in the alloted time. This made for a very fast race and all teams - regardless of skill level - finished within minutes of each other. The team quite enjoyed this new format for shorter races.

Next, the team is preparing to send 2 teams to the mighty Baja Travesia at the end of March!
