100km the Miwok Way!
Last weekend, Dart-nuun athlete Jen Segger headed to California to compete at the Miwok 100km trail ultra down in Marin Headlands, San Francisco. A stacked field of runners were in attendance including several of the top male and female ultra runners in the USA. Beginning at 5:45am, just as the sun was rising over the Golden Gate Bridge, the course lived up to its expectations as being one of the most scenic and beautiful race courses out there.
Jen finished the course in 10hrs 01min, good enough for 1st place in the 20-29 age division and 4th female overall. "I had a solid race, managed to stay hydrated with nuun in the hottest part of the day and my broken shoe lace at 22km held out" Jen summed up. "Amazing course with over 16,000ft elevation, great competition, I must return to this next year."
