DART-nuun member wins Momar
Last weekend, DART-nuun athlete Jen Segger-Gigg returned to her old stomping grounds on Vancouver Island to to race at the Mind over Mountain Adventure Race (MOMAR) adventure race in Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island, BC. Having designed the Squamish MOMAR course several months ago, it was nice for Jen to be able to race this one as opposed to being the organizer.
Jen teamed up with old race partner Adrian LaSalle-Lowe and raced as a co-ed double. This dynamic duo hadnā??t raced together in 2 years since winning Raid the North, Nelson BC. The MOMAR race was just over 40km in total distance and featured a number of really fun mystery challenges including a slippery run up the Koksilah river bed and a blow-up inflatable device water section at the Quarry.
The team finished 1st in their category and 4th overall after a major navigation error was made during the orienteering course. Their total time was just over 5hours to complete the course. Jen and Adrian look forward to racing the next and final MOMAR race of the year later on in September.
