Boats

Each team will be provide a single Mad River Adventure 16 Canoe.

Teams are required to use the boats provided by race management. No outside boats will be allowed.

Support crews should be prepared to transport their team's boat during the race.

Each racer must provide their own PFD and paddle.

Support Crews

All teams, whether 2 or 3 person, are required to have a support crew of at least one person. Each support crew is limited to one vehicle suitable for transporting all team members and equipment, including your bikes and boat, at one time. Pickup trucks, SUVs, Subaru Outbacks (or similar) and vans (preferably with a wizard airbushed on the side) are commonly used as support vehicles.

While it is recommended, it is not necessary that your support crew be able to load and unload equipment as racers are allowed to do this themselves when meeting their Support Crew in designated Transition Areas.

4WD vehicles are not required although your Support Crew may encounter conditions not suitable for a 2WD vehicle if they have to drive to a more remote section of the course to pick you up in the event that your team is forced to withdraw from the race.

Online Coverage

Friends and family will be able to follow your progress online from home. We will be using Checkpoint Tracker to deliver realtime GPS tracking, a leaderboard, team profiles, race blog, photos and more during the race right from the course.
