from race director and head coach, Pete Swenson! Three of our four member team will be competeing over in Switzerland february 23-29th as part of the US Ski Mountaineering Team!

Training for Primal Quest? Ski Mountaineering!

Happy New Year folks!
With 56" in the last 7 days and over 8ft in December its tough to think about the 2008 Primal Quest in Montana.
So how is Team Salomon/Crested Butte training for it? Randonee racing folks! Every race is usually high intensity vertical for 2-3 hours with 3,000-5,000ft of elevation gain. I think I heard Don Mann mention something about over 90,000 vertical feet of gain in PQ MT, so start thinking about getting into this sport! Its really about the training for this sport that will transfer over nicely to PQ this summer, plus its a lot of fun.
