Where the hell is Abu Dhabi you ask your self? Well its right in the middle of the Persian Gulf. ....and no truth to the rumor that US Navy boats will be acting as safety boats for this race! Team Salomon/Crested Butte is off to race in the first addition of the Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge. This race has a $200,000.00 USD prize purse and appears to attracting all the top teams in the world with this kind of cash. And speaking of cash this country has no lack there of....they obviously sit on a pile of oil, but are trying to develop there tourism industry, so hence the large cash purse. I'll let you know what chunk of that $$ we get after the race.

The team will be racing without the services of regular mate Jon Brown, due to work.
Instead we'll have Dave Mackey (formerly with Spyder). Dave a great ultra runner living in Boulder, CO these days and should really aid the team when it comes to the trecking stages. I hear there's another big snow storm coming to Crested Butte, get out and ski folks!! More to come....
