Compared to this guy, adventure racers are sissies
I read Into the Wild several years ago. GREAT book based on a true story by John Krakauer, the same guy that wrote Into Thin Air, the account of the ill-fated Rob Hall expedition to Everest in 1996.
By the looks of the trailer, the film adaptation of Into the Wild by Sean Penn, might just do it justice (that's in spite of Sean Penn not because of him):

Alexander Supertramp! Cool, looks like a good movie.
I'd like to see Into Thin AIr done into a major motion picture as well.
Yeah, he makes them look like Sissies. Except for that whole dying part. ;)
And I believe Into Thin Air has been optioned for a movie, but not sure what it's status is. Well a real movie, as it's already been done in cheesy, made for TV sense.
Read the book years ago. This guy was so lost that a map and compass or even GPS would not have helped.
