Primal Quest website updated
There's some new information about sponsorship and volunteer opportunities, but I didn't see any new details about the race itself.Online registration opens in 5 days. So...who's planning on racing and who's sitting this one out? Drop me a comment and tell me all about it.

not racing for $12,500...
and how can they be posting info about volunteer opportunities when they don't even have any racers or a race venue or a race date?
I am taking a wait and see approach to this one...? Looks like their might be a couple nice international races in the works for less money.
Where? When? a few details might be nice before throwing down a hefty deposit.

Maybe it's in Oak Mountain.
Good BBQ in Alabama...mmmmm
I'll be sitting this one out.
Heya Yak,
What I think is quite interesting is that you're expected to put down a US$2,500 deposit with your application, with the remaining balance (US$10,000) by 1 Nov.
As yet, there are no details on the race... location (State would be specific enough), disciplines, date... I think one of the press releases said that date would be early spring 2008? that makes it about March in the Northern Hemisphere.
Looks to me like PQ is banking on it's past reputation to guarantee entries, even though nothing specific on the event has actually been released?
While I have little doubt about PQ's reputation - its history is well established and reputable - I do like to know what I'm in for before I put down what is quite a hefty sum (especially when you don't earn in Dollars or live in the US). Is PQ exempt from posting race information prior to entries
open?
PQ... let's see some race info. Down here in the Southern Hemisphere we're eager to see what you have up your sleeves. - Lisa
Can't even give it a moment's serious consideration...although I'd love to support all of the fine people associated w/ the race, my team can race elsewhere for the deposit alone! I can't go into debt for years for one race...sigh
12,500 is a bit over the edge on prices, and also teams need support crews and vehicles, airfare, ect.. so go figure about 20,000$ to race, plus more logistical headaches than necessary. i havent missed a PQ yet, have finished all of them in the full courses, but this might be one to miss, as for that price I can do 4 international races unless someone rings up with a sponsor and handles logistics. They also need to at minimum post disciplines and more location info. No one wants to shell out cash for a trip with no destination. I know if I had known last year we had signed up for Moab race when we entered for that time of year i would have never entered the race. While I find Don Mann an awesome person and hope he succeeds tremendously (he deserves it) they still need to give more info and so on....
