WeCeFAR's annual Swamp Stomp, to be held in Tampa, FL, is widely known as one of the best and most challenging 24-hour races in the nation. Now, in its fourth year, the racing group that's known for challenging its racers is challenging itself. In conjunction with Adventure Racers for the Environment and its title sponsor, SmartWool, WeCeFAR will create the nation's first-ever entirely green adventure race.

As part of ARFE's sweeping movement to green up Racing, WeCeFAR's race incorporates ARFE's Ten Commandments of Green Racing. At the 2007 SmartWool Swamp Stomp you'll find:

• No carbon footprint, with offsets generously donated by LEKI


• 100% sustainable Merino Wool race t-shirts from SmartWool


• Recycling stations at every checkpoint


• ARFE's Treats for Trash and Best Garbage programs, with prizes sponsored by SmartWool and LaraBar


• Leave No Trace Awareness training for all race participants and volunteers


• Biodegradable Swag bags


• An environmental project within the race


• The providing of disposable Pack It In, Pack It Out bags for human waste from Restop


• Vetting of the race by an ARFE-certified environmental specialist


• T-shirt, water-bottle, and sneaker re-use projects at race check-in
