Team Checkpoint Zero/GoLite wins season opener
Michele Hobson, Brandon Patterson, Scott Pleban and Pete Spagnoli brought home the team's first win of 2007 at the Odyssey One Day Extreme (Checkpoint Tracker) in Natural Bridge, VA this past weekend.
After a cold, wet start (they swamped their Canoe at CP2) that set them back from the lead by about 30 minutes, the team quickly caught up with the front of the pack and remained out front for the rest of the race.
The highlight for Checkpoint Zero/GoLite would have to be the blistering pace they set for the orienteering section of the course. The team hit all points in 4 hours and 15 minutes. The second fastest time came from Berlin Bike who finished the section in 5 hours and 58 minutes and went on to take 2nd place at the Finish.
Congratulations team. What a way to start the season. Nice work.
We'll have a race report later in the week. Odyssey's photographer, Will Ramos, was sick and unable to shoot the race so we won't have pics this time around.
Hope you're feeling better Will!
