Around 8:50am EDT this morning (August 16, 2006), a local construction accident (read, an idiot with a Ditch Witch) severed the fiber conduits running to the datacenter hosting the site. The conduit has been replaced and the site is back online, obviously.

What can I say. Sometimes monkey's die...

I apologize to those of you that tried in vain to visit the site today. I'm not pleased to have discovered in this way that my hosting provider did not have redundant fiber conduits connecting the datacenter to the backbone. I am shopping for another provider as I type.

Because of the outage, any emails sent to any address @checkpointzero.com have been bouncing all day. This includes reports and pics from the ARWC, now in progress in Sweden. I am working to get in touch with my sources to get my hands on the content and will be posting as I get it.
